Paro is Bhutan’s international airport. The national airlines are Drukair and Bhutan Airlines. Official road entry points connect Bhutan with India. Flight routes and schedules change, so confirm directly with the airline before finalising connecting travel.
Bhutan is a year-round destination with spring, summer, autumn and winter. Spring is known for flowering landscapes, autumn often brings clear days and festivals, winter can be crisp and sunny, and summer is greener with monsoon influence. Conditions vary by altitude.
Private vehicles with drivers are commonly arranged through tourism service providers. Self-drive vehicle hire is not available. Journey times can be longer than distances suggest because of mountainous roads.
